Residential Sprinkler Systems
The following materials are provided by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) to assist "builders" and "home buyers" with educational resources on the benefits of installing residential (home) fire sprinkler systems.
Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition
The nonprofit Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) is a national, 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused solely on educational outreach. It is the leading resource for independent, noncommercial information about residential fire sprinklers.
The website has specific information for consumers, builders, fire service, real estate agents, insurance agents and local officials.
"Common Voices" is an advocacy coalition for a fire safe America sponsored by the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA). According to the U.S. Fire Administration and the Center for Disease Control, someone dies in a fire about every two hours in America, and someone is injured every 29 minutes. Over 3,000 people die annually. 82% of these deaths occur in the home. Fire Sprinklers are part of the solution, they do make a difference and do save lives.
The advocates that serve as the Coalitions Advisory Committee have all been directly affected by fire. By bringing their voices together, the NFSA hopes to assist the advocates in their quest to ensure that others will not have to deal with similar tragedies. This Coalition strives to make a difference by sharing their stories (see links below) and influence change.
