Governor Corbett is committed to supporting policies that support local business and their workers.  This begins with a balanced state budget that holds the line on spending and on taxes. The Corbett budget looks at Pennsylvania’s economy in the long term and begins the process of ensuring a stable, secure future for the commonwealth.  It means taking the first step in tort reform by enacting the Fair Share Act, ensuring that our legal system treats business and medical professionals fairly in the award of financial damages, working to keep them in Pennsylvania so they will continue to create jobs and provide medical services. 

By advocating a comprehensive, jobs friendly Marcellus Shale proposal, the Governor has also taken decisive action to ensure the natural gas industry will  continue to grow and be a source of quality jobs for Pennsylvanians  This proposal provides a common sense framework for creating jobs and sustaining this flourishing industry. In his first year in office, Governor Corbett has taken the necessary steps to put Pennsylvania on a long-term path to economic prosperity.
