Select the resource that applies to your property
The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) collects information on historic and cultural resources in Pennsylvania. These resources come from a variety of sources ranging from firms engaged in cultural resource management, muncipality and county governments planning for historic preservation, to private citizens interested in the history of their property or community.
This section has been divided up into three areas representing the most common types of resources and explains the process for recording each type. Note: Some resources many span more than one type, but have been placed in the category most representative of the resource. For example, rural properties most likely have an archaeological component to them, but are found in the Above Ground Resources category.
