Promoting Student Success through Resiliency


The Pennsylvania Department of Education is pleased to announce the availability of the online course, Promoting Student Success through Resiliency. This unique professional development opportunity prepares teachers, school staff and administrators to provide the environmental protective factors that positively affect student learning in classrooms, schools and communities and promote inclusive practices in all settings for all children. The Resiliency/Wellness approach emphasizes a strength-based perspective which addresses the social-emotional learning needs of youth, thus fostering higher levels of academic achievement.

The 15-hour course is divided into 10 sections that may be completed in a variety of ways: Self-study; Self-directed; Facilitated learning community.

The course is offered to all PA educators at no cost and Act 48 credit hours will be awarded automatically after each participant completes all 10 sections. The course can be accessed at
