Learning Management System (LMS)
LMS is a web-based system for training programs and information sharing regarding bioterrorism and other public health issues. LMS will allow persons to complete training and share information 24/7 in the convenience of their workplace or home. A School track has been added to LMS to provide courses to Certified School Nurses, Registered Nurses and other school personnel which will fulfill PDE Act 48 of 1999 hour and RN Act 58 of 2006 requirements. The Pennsylvania Asthma Partnership (PAP) has worked with the Department of Health (DOH), Division of School Health, to post Asthma 101 on LMS. This session is available for 2 hours of continuing education. Asthma 101 is designed as an introduction to preventing, treating and reacting to an asthma episode for teachers and school personnel.

Preventing Childhood Obesity: An Ecological Approach. March 14 - April 24, 2012
In this six-week long course, participants will learn to apply an ecological approach to preventing childhood obesity. The course is expected to take approximately 2 - 3 hours/week. Class size is limited to about 25 teams. The regular cost is $150/person and the course provides 15 continuing professional education units. Individuals who want to be considered for the course can apply here. This course is targeted to teams of 3 - 5 people that include at least 1 county-based extension nutrition educator, 1 county-based 4-H agent and 1 community partner. TB 101 for Health Care Workers
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Tuberculosis Elimination (DTBE) , is pleased to announce the release of the interactive online course, TB 101 for Health Care Workers. This course was developed as a collaborative effort between DTBE and the four TB Regional Training and Medical Consultation Centers (RTMCCs). TFA supported the development of several trainings to educate school personnel in understanding the developing brain and how to strengthen their tobacco policies.
