Department's Role in Slots Gaming Law
Department's Role in Slots Gaming Law
Act 71 of 2004 permits the operations of slot machines in up to 14 slots venues through the Commonwealth. While most of the responsibilities and oversight for such gaming rests with the
Gaming Control Board, the Department of Revenue also has several important responsibilities in the successful implementation and control of slots gaming.
The Department must implement and administratively manage a Central Control System (CCS) that controls and links all operational slot machines to one central computer system. The Department is also responsible for the accurate accounting and collection of the many different earmarked revenues due the Commonwealth from slots operations.
