Special Assistant to the Secretary of the CommonwealthKeldeen Zellers Stambaugh was appointed Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Commonwealth on July 7, 2014.

As Special Assistant, Ms. Stambaugh serves as the Secretary’s liaison for commissions, conferences, internal and external meetings, as well as the National Association of Secretaries of State. The Special Assistant is the Department of State’s Continuity of Government Coordinator which develops advanced arrangements and procedures to ensure critical business operations resume in the event of a disaster. Additionally, Ms. Stambaugh serves as a Department Captain on the Governor’s Innovation Team and assists the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries with projects, research, and official communications.

Before coming to the Department of State, Ms. Stambaugh served as the Mayor of Paxtang Borough (2006-2014) and continues to volunteer at various events in her community. Professionally, she has 20 years of experience in the areas of fundraising, development, strategy, events, sales and marketing across Pennsylvania. Her previous government employment included Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs and Communications in the PA Board of Probation and Parole, a Senate of PA Staff Member and she currently serves on the Task Force for Lyme Disease & Related Tick-Borne Diseases.

Ms. Stambaugh resides in the Borough of Paxtang, Dauphin County with her husband and their daughter.
