Psychology Applications for Examination and Licensure
The Board's regulations allow applicants to sit for the examinations prior to the completion of post doctoral experience. The first set of applications below is for applicants who are applying to sit for the examinations prior to the completion of post doctoral experience. Please choose the application based upon your doctoral program and when you began/will begin earning post doctoral experience.
Application to Request Approval to Sit for the Psychology Licensing Examinations (PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF POST DOCTORAL EXPERIENCE):
APPL #863-101 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is either accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or designated by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB)/National Register Designation Project.
- Post doctoral experience began on or before December 5, 2010.
APPL #863-102 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria AND were enrolled in the doctoral program prior to July 1, 2008:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is NOT accredited by APA or designated by the ASPPB/National Register Designation Project (must have been enrolled in the program prior to July 1, 2008).
- Post doctoral experience began on or before December 5, 2010.
APPL #863-103 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is either accredited by APA or designated by the ASPPB/National Register Designation Project.
- Post doctoral experience began on or after December 6, 2010.
APPL #863-104 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria AND were enrolled in the doctoral program prior to July 1, 2008:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is NOT accredited by APA or designated by the ASPPB/National Register Designation Project (must have been enrolled in the program prior to July 1, 2008).
- Post doctoral experience began on or after December 6, 2010.
This second set of applications below is for applicants who are applying to sit for the examinations after completion of post doctoral experience. Please choose the application based upon your doctoral program and when you began earning post doctoral experience.
Application to Request Approval to Sit for the Psychology Licensing Examinations/Application for License to Practice Psychology (AFTER THE COMPLETION OF POST DOCTORAL EXPERIENCE):
APPL #863-105 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is either accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or designated by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB)/National Register Designation Project.
- Post doctoral experience began on or before December 5, 2010.
APPL #863-106 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria AND were enrolled in the doctoral program prior to July 1, 2008:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is NOT accredited by APA or designated by the ASPPB/National Register Designation Project (must have been enrolled in the program prior to July 1, 2008).
- Post doctoral experience began on or before December 5, 2010.
APPL #863-107 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is either accredited by APA or designated by the ASPPB/National Register Designation Project.
- Post doctoral experience began on or after December 6, 2010.
APPL #863-108 - For first-time applicants who meet the following criteria AND were enrolled in the doctoral program prior to July 1, 2008:
- Have received a doctoral degree from a program that is NOT accredited by APA or designated by the ASPPB/National Register Designation Project (must have been enrolled in the program prior to July 1, 2008).
- Post doctoral experience began on or after December 6, 2010.
