  • There are no restrictions placed on the use of State Surplus Property.  Items may be used, sold or scrapped at the discretion of the buyer.
  • The buyer is responsible for removing purchased items from the premises.
  • All property purchased at auction or through our Distribution Center must be removed on the day of purchase unless otherwise noted.
  • Awarded bidders must remove the items within the time specified in the bid specifications.
  • All items are sold on an “as-is, where-is” basis, and all sales are final.
  • State Surplus reserves the right to withdraw any property from sale, and to reject any or all bids on such property when it is determined to be in the best interest of the Commonwealth.

 

 

PURCHASING STATE SURPLUS PROPERTY PROHIBITIONS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Employees of the Department of General Services’ Bureau of Supplies and Surplus may not purchase any items offered for sale in this store.   
  • Property Control Officer(s) and their supervisor(s) of the Commonwealth agency may not purchase any items offered for sale in this store, which they declared “surplus” to the needs of the agency. 
  • State employees may not purchase any item with a price greater than $500.
  • State employees are also subject to any specific guidelines of their respective agencies in regard to purchases of items with a price of $500 or less.   Employees should check agency policy on purchasing of state property to identify any additional restrictions.
