Tax Forgiveness is determined based on marital status, family size and eligibility income.

 

To receive Tax Forgiveness, you must file a PA income tax return and complete PA Schedule SP.

 

NOTE: To report dependent children or to file for the first time, use form PA-40 or padirectfile to file your return.  You cannot claim dependent children using TeleFile.

File online with pa.direct.file, the Department's free Internet filing system, which calculates Tax Forgiveness for you.  Use pa.direct.file by providing your Social Security number and last year's tax liability or your PA driver's license or photo identification number. Filing online allows the department to process your refund in half the time compared to filing a paper return.
