The Division of Adult and Postsecondary CTE has formed a partnership with the Pennsylvania Tourism and Lodging Association. Through this partnership, various schools throughout the state are participating in the Lodging Management Program (LMP). This program was developed by the National Hospitality Business Alliance which is an educational partnership between the National Restaurant Association and the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
LMP is a secondary level program designed to provide a foundation for students to assume entry-level leadership roles within the hospitality industry and/or continue with postsecondary programs in hospitality. The structure of LMP includes educational components that address all the major departments within hotels such as registration, maintenance, financial, human resources, etc.
Through LMP, partnerships are established with local hotels to provide student internships, field trips, and job shadowing. Students successfully completing the program receive a nationally recognized Certificate of Achievement. In addition, various articulation agreements are in place for students to continue with postsecondary opportunities.
