If you take advantage of this option, it is best to arrive in the morning, since some tests are three or four hours long and cannot be completed if started later in the day.  It is strongly encouraged that you apply for the examination you wish to take before reporting to the test center.  If you do not, you will need to submit an application at the test center prior to taking an examination.

 

     When you arrive at the test center, please advise the staff person that you want to be tested as a walk-in candidate.  If you take an examination as a Walk-In and have a future scheduled date and time for the same examination, that date and time will be cancelled. 

     If you are traveling a long distance or are limited in the amount of time you can spend at the test center, we suggest self-scheduling your test through the Online Services link on our website.

     Tests are administered in our Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia offices Monday through Friday.  We also test approximately 10 days each month – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, with some Wednesday evenings, and Saturdays, at our testing centers in Allentown, Erie, Johnstown, Lock Haven and Scranton.  Below is a list of dates in 2012 and 2013 when testing will not be available at any site, due to scheduled computer systems maintenance.
