2011-12 VFCVAS Grant Program Important Dates
September 6, 2011 - The 2011-12 VFCSAS Grant application period opens on September 6, 2011. The on-line grant agreement will be available on our web site that afternoon.
EXTENDED TO NOVEMBER 4, 2011– The 2011-12 VFCVAS Grant application period will close at 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Saving Time on November 4, 2011 and no additional applications will be accepted.
October 21, 2006 – To be eligible for the increased consolidated/merged funding available with this grant, fire companies or ambulance services must have consolidated/merged their use of equipment, personnel and services on or after October 22, 2006. Organizations that merged prior to October 21, 2006, will not be eligible for the increased funding.
July 1, 2011- Eligible projects initiated after July 1, 2011 and completed prior to disbursement of grant program funds will be considered as eligible projects for the 2011-12 grant year.
July 1, 2011 – To qualify for the Certification Bonus Point, an individual must have been certified at a minimum level of Fire Fighter 1 on or before July 1, 2011 by the National Professional Qualifications Board or by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and verified by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy.
December 1, 2011 – Deadline for submitting your Final Report for the 2010-11 VFCVAS Grant. While they can submit a 2011-12 application, organizations that do not submit a Final Report for 2010-11 or other prior grant years will not be included in the calculations for the current grant and therefore will not receive any grant funds.
December 20, 2011 - The Office of the State Fire Commissioner must approve or disapprove applications within 60 days of the application submission deadline. Applications received by the OSFC, which have not been approved or disapproved by December 20, 2011, will be considered as approved, subject to the provisions of Act 17 of 2003, as amended (which includes the requirement to submit a final report for each grant received).
