This
is professional engineering work in the design, construction,
rehabilitation or maintenance of highway bridges and related structures.
You will engage in design activities, develop plans, and review plans
prepared by consultant engineers; and prepare cost estimates, job and
material specifications and detailed working drawings. You will also
monitor construction activities, resolve problems
associated with proposed location and design changes, and may be involved
in an ongoing statewide bridge inspection and maintenance program. Senior
Civil Engineers manage a quality assurance design or inspection program
for Interstate, major and/or complex bridges. You will review and
recommend the approval of consultants' engineering plans, proposals and
specifications; and provide technical assistance when requested.
