Type
of Work
You
will be assigned to a region of the state where you perform regulatory
inspections and provide grading services to food processing facilities,
warehouses, distributors, retail food stores, etc., to ensure compliance
with laws governing the quality, condition and grade of fruits and
vegetables and the quality, sanitation and grade of eggs. Inspectors have
the authority to remove commodities from sale; gather evidence; and
recommend prosecution for violation of state regulations. There is
considerable public contact to gain cooperation and support; to explain
state and federal regulations; and to resolve complaints related to minor
violations.
You will work from your home. You will be given
considerable freedom in scheduling and completing your work. You will
occasionally report to a regional office. A supervisor reviews your work
through consultations, meetings, and written reports.
This
position involves travel throughout the Region 7 area (Berks, Schuylkill,
Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Delaware, and
Chester counties). |
