Currently, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has one vacancy for Staff Psychiatrist at its Central Office in Mechanicsburg (Cumberland County).
 
Type of Work
Staff Psychiatrists are responsible for the care and treatment of patients with a mental health or co-occurring diagnosis. You will provide these services to patients in wards, diagnostic centers, other similar facilities or community programs. Examinations, diagnoses, treatment and other therapeutic functions are performed under the general direction of a higher level psychiatrist.


NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.


NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Certain positions in children's and adolescent facilities require completion of a residency program in child psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Starting Salary

$116,851/annually
