| Type of Work Lake Erie Lifeguards perform public safety work at Presque Isle State Park (Erie County) swimming areas along Lake Erie. You will patrol and survey the swimming areas to prevent swimmers from endangering themselves or others; enforce swimming regulations; rescue swimmers in distress; search for drowning victims; and administer first aid to the injured. Candidates must possess a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate; or a valid YMCA Lifeguard Training Certificate; and a valid American Red Cross Community First Aid and Safety Certificate; or any combination of valid certificates in standard first aid and adult, child and infant CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). | |||

| Starting Salary
Lake Erie Lifeguards currently earn $11.10/hour through June 30, 2013. Lake Erie Lifeguards will earn $11.16/hour, effective July 1, 2013. | |||
