The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation currently has six vacancies for Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee located in its Central Office in Dauphin County.


Type of Work
You will participate in a comprehensive 12 month on-the-job training program designed to develop technical proficiency. Your training assignments will include learning to develop and monitor a schedule of transportation projects; to compile and analyze traffic and transportation data and use transportation systems such as the Geographic Information System (GIS); to review proposed legislation as it relates to projects; and to prepare written and oral reports. Initial assignments are performed under close supervision. As you gain competency, you will be given more independence and responsibility.
