Timoptic-XE

PACE/PACENET has been informed by Merck that it is discontinuing the manufacture of Timoptic-XE® 0.25% and 0.5% in the 2.5ml. size. Merck was the last manufacturer of timolol 0.25% in the 2.5ml. size.

Timolol in the 0.25% strength in the 5ml. size continues to be available both from Merck* and Falcon. To enable cardholders to receive the 0.25% strength, the Program will reimburse for the 0.25% strength in the 5 ml. sizes from these manufacturers for claims submitted with a days’ supply of at least 45 but not greater than 60.

*Note: Merck Timoptic-XE® is available only through the Medical Exception Process.

Timolol 0.5% continues to be available in the 2.5ml. size. Reimbursement will continue based on a days’ supply of less than 30. To be consistent, the Program will also reimburse for the 0.5% strength in the 5 ml. sizes from these manufacturers for claims submitted with a days’ supply of at least 45 but not greater than 60.
