Part D Assignment Letters
On Tuesday, July 19, 2006 all PACE and PACENET cardholders
not enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan were sent the enclosed letters informing
them that the Program was requesting they enroll in a plan chosen for them.
Although cardholders were requested to call Cardholder
Services at the toll-free number of 1-800-225-7223 with questions, past
experience demonstrates many PACE cardholders will seek advice or counsel from
their pharmacist.
The most common question heard by the Program and which you
will probably be asked, is:
“Is my PACE coverage going away?”
As stated in both letters, the answer is “NO.”
The Program is, however, asking PACE cardholders to accept
the plan the Program has chosen for them. By accepting this Part D plan, the
Program will realize savings that can be used to help even more older
Pennsylvanians.
For PACENET cardholders, the Program has selected a plan
that will give them the same coverage while lowering their monthly prescription
costs because the PACENET Part D plan will have a monthly premium which is
significantly less than the current $40.00 monthly deductible.
Cardholders
with questions or concerns about Part D plans should be encouraged to call
Cardholder Services at 1-800-225-7223.
