NATIONAL PROVIDER IDENTIFIER (NPI)
ALL PROVIDERS SHOULD HAVE OR BE IN THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING THEIR NATIONAL PROVIDER IDENTIFIER (NPI) NUMBER.
The NPI number will be required for claim submission for all Programs beginning Tuesday, May 22, 2007.
Provider Re-enrollment documents are being mailed the week of March 26, 2007. The Provider’s NPI must be included on all returned Re-enrollments.
For those providers who have already notified the Program of their NPI number, PACE accepts the NPI as their provider number for claims processing. When using the NPI number for claims submissions, the claim must have the Service Provider ID Identifier changed from “99” to “01” in Field 202-B2.
