TESTING

This will be an oral/work simulation test.  This test will measure job requirements that are needed for effective job performance in all managerial positions.  The job requirements you will be rated on are:  decision making, problem analysis, communicating, delegating, managing conflict, and arranging and conducting meetings.

You will first have a 1-hour study period to review the “in-basket” of a manager.  During the hour you are to assume the role of the manager, identify problems in the situation presented, and determine what you would do in response to the in-basket items.  The in-basket items are not specific to a Housing Authority.  You will then spend 45 minutes with an oral examination rating board.  You will describe your responses to the in-basket items to the board.  The board members will be experienced managers.

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 12 months from the date of your test.  You must submit a new application to be retested.

If your name is on an eligible list for these job titles and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.
