The
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation currently has two openings for
Civil Engineer Consultant (Bridge). Both are located in the District 8
Central Office. |

Type
of Work
As
a Civil Engineer Consultant, you will perform high order analytical,
developmental, and evaluative professional engineering work of a
non-supervisory nature in the areas of highway bridges and related
structures. You may coordinate and direct design activities; supervise the
development of plans prepared by consultant engineers; direct the
preparation of cost estimates, job and material specifications and
detailed working drawings; monitor construction activities; resolve
problems associated with proposed location and design changes; monitor and
direct bridge inspection activities; perform or direct bridge engineering
computation activities; evaluate the desirability of adopting new
technology; or develop new engineering standards. You may also be involved
in an ongoing statewide bridge inspection and maintenance program.
