Employment Opportunities
County Social Casework Interns work out of local government human
services agencies located throughout the state. Employment preference may be
given to residents in counties in which these jobs are located.
Type of Work
This is professional work of a training nature involving the performance of
social casework duties. This is a structured six-month internship program
developed to provide practical work experience. This experience applies general
social work principles acquired through course curriculum transforming them into
sound working skills. The intent of this program is to prepare employees,
providing them with full- time career opportunities in the field of social
services in the Commonwealth.
Location
Positions are located throughout the state in local government agencies such
as Children, Youth and Families, Mental Health/Mental Retardation, Drug and
Alcohol programs, and Area Agency on Aging (AAA). There are no current or
expected positions in Philadelphia.

Salary may vary by county. Contact the local government agency where you are

Benefits
Students
who successfully complete the internship and are offered permanent employment
will be eligible for promotion with an increase in salary and will receive
benefits.
