Employment Opportunities
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections currently has six full-time Dentist vacancies – one at each of the State Correctional Institutions (SCIs) listed below.

Type of Work
As a Dentist, you will perform professional dental work in the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and care of inmates in Department of Corrections' state correctional institutions. Work may also include the coordination of off-site contractual dental services. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level dentist, medical, or administrative supervisor.

You must have a valid license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.

Post Employment Requirement
After you receive a conditional offer of employment, you must undergo a medical examination.

You must pass a background investigation. After being hired, you must attend and complete a 3-week basic training program at the Department of Corrections' Central Training Academy in Elizabethtown, PA, which is located in Lancaster County.

Starting Salary

$82,817-$119,316 annually
