Institutions (SCIs) listed below.
Type of Work
This is professional nursing
work in the psychosocial, physical, and/or mental health nursing care and
treatment of individuals having mental or physical injury or illness,
developmental disability, and/or dysfunctional behavior.
Registered Nurses (State) provide nursing services at state
mental health hospitals, mental retardation centers, youth development centers
and youth forestry camps, veterans' homes and centers, and infirmaries of state
correctional facilities. At the Registered Nurse level, an employee
performs as a head nurse, charge nurse, staff nurse, or an assessment
coordinator providing specialized nursing care and treatment services in a
Commonwealth facility.

Starting Salary
The salary for an RN (Corrections) is $54,038-$82,058/annually.
Effective July 1, 2012, the starting salary at SCI-Camp Hill and SCI-Graterford
is $65,868/annually; the starting salary at SCI-Coal Township, SCI-Frackville
and SCI-Mahanoy will be $57,752/annually.
