Governor Corbett's Budget Includes Record $11.63 Billion in State Education Funding, Additional Investments in Pennsylvania's Children
July 1, 2013– Supporting Pennsylvania's children of all ages, Governor Tom Corbett's budget provides record education funding and increases funding in early childhood intervention, early learning, childcare subsidies and health insurance enrollment efforts.

Budget Information

Summary of State Education Appropriations
The following contains a summary of the enacted funding levels for 2013-2014 Department of Education appropriations.

Basic Education Funding
The enacted budget includes $5,526,129,000 for the 2013-2014 Basic Education Funding appropriation.  This amount is a $122,500,000 increase (2.27 percent) over the enacted State appropriation for 2012-2013.

Special Education Funding
The Governor's Budget includes $1,026,815,000 for the 2013-2014 Special Education appropriation.

Secondary Career and Technical Education Subsidy
The Governor's Budget for 2013-2014 includes $62,000,000 for the Career and Technical Education appropriation. This amount is the same amount appropriated in 2012-2013 for the Career and Technical Education.  This appropriation allocates an estimated $49,639,000 for the Secondary Career and Technical Education Subsidy (SCTES).

Pennsylvania Accountability Grants
The Governor's Budget includes $100,000,000 for 2013-2014 Pennsylvania Accountability Grants.
