American Mountain Ash
Sorbus americana
A small native deciduous tree that can reach 30 feet with a spread of 20 to 30 feet. Full sun and along woodland and swamp/bog borders. Also found on relatively dry soils such as mountain ridges. Produces white flowers in May just after leaves appear. Small ΒΌ-inch red-orange fruits in clusters are heavily used by birds in fall.
