DESCRIPTION:
A native hardwood growing to 75 feet. Open green foliage with fragrant, white, pealike flowers in June and thorns on young branches. Tolerates poor, sterile and dry soils. An excellent early succession species, it helps control erosion on disturbed ground. Makes good firewood and fence posts.
