Douglas Fir
Pseudotsuga menziesii
Young trees have very dense growth. Can grow 60 to 70 feet. Blue-green needles ¾ to 1¼ inches long have a sweet scent when crushed. Prefers full to partial sun, does best in moist but well-drained soils. Does not do well in wet/clay soils. A nonnative conifer well suited for Christmas trees, as well as wildlife cover.

Seedlings are 3 years old, 6 to 12 inches.
