The primary focus of Goodwill of Southwestern PA is to help people with disabilities and disadvantages achieve full participation in society by expanding their opportunities and occupational capabilities. Goodwill provides a full range of employment, training, education, vocational assessment, counseling and support services and has established itself as a regional and national leader in the diverse field of Re-Integration of Ex-Offenders as well as Welfare to Work and related efforts including Career Advancement of the Working Poor; Life Management; Fatherhood Education for Low–Income Non-Custodial Parents; Family and Youth Services including Parenting, Child Development and Legal Services; Incumbent Worker Industry Specific Training; Mental Health and Substance Abuse; Research, Development and Maintenance of One Stop Employment Centers; and Development of International Workforce Development Staff Training Credential, Career Development Facilitator. |
| Description |
We offer a full range of adult education services, workplace training, and student support services including adult special education. Our agency can offer assistance in basic employability skills development, job search and job placement. The Education Dept. hosts a PA private-licensed school that offers ease of transitioning from ABE into vocational training and the agency is home to a PA CareerLink affiliate site. |
