Celebrate National Minority Health Month

 2013 Health Diversity Festival

Hamilton Health Center

Saturday, April 13, 2013

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Heart disease, stroke and cancer are the leading killers of minorities in Pennsylvania. Furthermore, 39 percent of the minority population is diagnosed as being obese.  The top four cancers diagnosed in the Pennsylvania Hispanic populations are male prostate, female breast, colorectal and lung.  African-Americans in Pennsylvania have the highest rates of death from all cancers compared to their white or Hispanic counterparts.

In celebration of Minority Health Month in April, the Office of Health Equity (OHE) and fellow partners will host the 2013 Health Diversity Festival, bringing awareness to and highlighting several efforts towards the advancement of health equity. OHE invites you to join them on Saturday, April 13 at Hamilton Health Center, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the 2013 Health Diversity Festival.  You are encouraged to come and learn more about what you can do to promote health equity in your local community.
