Cost: There is no initial fee to attend the classroom portion of the training. Once
you have completed the classroom training on May 14th a department
official will meet with you and provide the hands-on training so you can
obtain blood and swab samples from poultry. You must provide a few
birds for this phase of the training. Once you have completed both the
classroom training and the hands-on training you will be given a
signed certificate to submit along with your check for $10.00 and the
Department will mail your Poultry Technician License.
Reminder: You MUST be a Certified Poultry Technician in order to submit diagnostic samples for laboratory testing. This includes samples to aid in the diagnosis of a particular disease in a flock and samples to meet the testing requirements for exhibition of birds at local fairs. CPTs must be at least 18 years of age.
