Reduced Oxygen Packaging Guidance

Reduced oxygen packaging (ROP) is a packaging procedure which results in a reduced oxygen level in the sealed food package and decreases the amount of competing spoilage bacteria normally found in certain foods. The resulting package is a more aesthetically pleasing product to the consumer and in many cases will extend the shelf-life of the food.
