NATURE OF WORK

You will survey schools of nursing and practical nursing programs to evaluate the curriculum, faculty, teaching methods, clinical facilities, residential and recreational areas.  These surveys are conducted to determine if the nursing programs are in compliance with rules, regulations and policies of the State Board of Nursing.

You must be willing to travel.  Travel expenses will be paid.

You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.

Necessary Special Requirement

Possession of a current license as a registered professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Minimum Requirements

Experience as a registered professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the five year period immediately preceding appointment, including or supplemented by three years as an instructor or administrator in a nursing education program; and a master’s degree in the field of nursing.

You must provide complete and accurate information.  Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application or result in a lower-than deserved score or disqualification.

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your “Notice of Examination Results.”  A new application and application supplement are required for a retest.

If your name is on an eligible list for this job title and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.

TEST RESULTS

Employment and promotion lists will be established.  You will be notified in writing of your test results.
