NATURE OF WORK

 

You will direct the food service operations of a state hospital center or the South Mountain Restoration Center.  You will review and approve all modified and standard menus, adhering to all specifications for food, equipment and supplies, following facility and departmental objectives, nutritional standards, food preferences, physiological needs, cost considerations, and established standards of quality and variety of food served in the facility.  You will ensure compliance with standards for dietetic services required by certifying and accrediting bodies.  You will also supervise employees of the dietetic services department and arrange for staff training. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Necessary Special Requirement

Certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association; OR proof of eligibility for such certification.

 

Minimum Requirements

Three years of management experience in an institutional food service operation; and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in foods, nutrition, dietetics, food service, institutional management or a related field.

Your application will be evaluated to determine whether you meet the Minimum and Necessary Special Requirements.  If you meet these requirements you will receive a score. 

 

If you possess a Certification as a Registered Dietitian, be sure to list the registration number on your application.  Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application, or result in a lower-than-deserved score or disqualification.

 

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your application.  A new application is required for a retest.

 

If your name is on an eligible list for this job title and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.

 

TEST RESULTS

 

Employment and promotion lists will be established.  You will be notified in writing of your test results.
