VETERANS: Pennsylvania law (51 Pa.C.S. §7103) provides employment preference for qualified veterans for appointment to many state and local government jobs. To learn more about employment preferences and opportunities for veterans, visit the Commission’s website www.scsc.state.pa.us; visit one of our offices; or call our veterans information line, (717) 787-6039.
NATURE OF WORK
You will review and process liquor license requests and related documents for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. You will review material sent by applicants to ensure that it is complete and in compliance with all laws, rules and regulations. You will also resolve discrepancies in reports and case files, and recommend approval or denial of liquor license requests. Technicians at the 2 level work more independently and on more complex applications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
You will be tested before your qualifications are reviewed. Your test results will count only if you meet all job requirements. If after reading the requirements you are not sure you qualify, contact one of the Commission's offices listed at the end of this announcement.
You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.
Your background will be checked. If you have been convicted of a felony within the last ten (10) years, you cannot work for the PLCB. If you have other criminal convictions, they will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if they are job related. If they are, you may not be appointed or could be removed from the position.
Minimum Requirements
LCB Licensing Technician 1 - Three years of clerical experience supporting a legal, licensing or other regulatory program requiring the application of statutes, program policies or industry regulations; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
LCB Licensing Technician 2 - Four years of clerical or administrative experience supporting a legal, licensing or other regulatory program requiring the application of statutes, program policies or industry regulations; OR 1 year of experience as a LCB Licensing Technician 1; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Clarification of Requirements
College level training can be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 college credits equals to one (1) year of experience. Unrelated experience will not be accepted.
