NATURE OF WORK

 

You will assist insurance actuaries in the analysis and evaluation of insurance rates, rating procedures and plans, loss revenue analysis, and non-forfeiture values to determine whether they conform with statutory requirements.  You will research and compile insurance and financial information and assist with the development of actuarial software for computer programs supporting the rate and/or loss reserving function.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

One year as an Actuarial Associate 1;

 

OR

 

a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics, 2 years of actuarial experience and completion of 2 parts of the Society of Actuaries Examination or Casualty Actuarial Society Examination;

 

OR

 

a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics, and completion of 3 parts of the Society of Actuaries Examination or Casualty Actuarial Society Examination;

 

OR

 

a master’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field with an emphasis in Actuarial Science.

TESTING

 

You will be rated on your experience and training.  Your score will be based on information you report on your application and your application supplement.

 

You must provide complete and accurate information.  Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application, or result in disqualification.

 

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 6 months from the date of your "Notice of Examination Results."  A new application and application supplement are required for a retest.

 

If your name is on an eligible list for these job titles and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.
