NATURE OF WORK

 

You will plan and organize the nutritional care of residents in state facilities.  This includes nutritional assessments, discharge summaries, diet counseling and chart entries.  Your work will involve the purchasing, financing and quality assurance of purchased food.  Your work will be reviewed by a Clinical Dietetic Manager or Director of Dietetic Services.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You must be a Pennsylvania resident, of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.

 

 

 

 

Necessary Special Requirement

Certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Registration of the American Dietetic Association; OR proof of eligibility for such certification.

 

Clarification of Requirements

If you are not currently certified as a Registered Dietitian, you must show proof of registration eligibility in one of the following three ways:  Submit a photocopy of your “Eligibility Confirmation Letter” sent to you by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); OR submit a photocopy of a “Special Letter of Eligibility” that you must request from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); OR submit a photocopy of the “Authorization to Test” letter from the American College of Testing (ACT).  Be sure to write your social security number on all documents that you submit.

TESTING

 

The test consists of determining whether you possess the appropriate registration/registration eligibility.  If you possess the appropriate registration/registration eligibility, you will receive a score.

 

If you take the test and want to take it again, you may be retested after 3 months from the date of your "Notice of Examination Results."  A new application is required for a retest.

 

If your name is on an eligible list for this job title and you take this test, your most recent examination result will be the only one counted.

 

If this announcement does not produce enough names for a specific area, another test may be announced for that area only.

 

TEST RESULTS

 

Employment and promotion lists will be established.  You will be notified in writing of your test results.
