NATURE OF WORK

 

This is professional work in public health conducting long-term and short-term investigative, epidemiologic research studies or public health assessments of environmental hazards and concerns.  You will prepare, interpret and write final epidemiological research and/or investigative reports documenting the locations and extent of disease problems with public health significance.  This work includes epidemiologic consultation, and evaluation and revision of disease reporting and surveillance systems.

You must be willing to travel.  Travel expenses will be paid.

 

You must be of good moral character and able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Pennsylvania residency is currently waived for this job title.

Minimum Requirements

A Master’s Degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics and 2 years of professional experience in conducting epidemiologic studies, investigation of disease outbreaks or clusters, or designing and managing a disease surveillance system; OR a Master’s Degree is Public Health and 3 years of professional experience in conducting epidemiologic studies, investigation of disease outbreaks or clusters, or designing and managing a disease surveillance system.

 

Training beyond the Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or Biostatistics may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
