County Casework Managers 2 supervise County Casework Managers 1 and assist with the planning, development and/or modification of agency programs, policies and practices to ensure legal compliance and that they address community needs. They monitor and evaluate program operations and interpret agency programs, policies and practices for other community organizations, agency staff and the general public. These positions are under the general guidance and direction of an administrative supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You are subject to Pennsylvania residency requirements and must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Visit the Commission’s website, Job Seekers page, for PA Residency Information.

Some of the positions in these job titles come under the provisions of a Child Protective Services Law. If you are being considered for one of these positions, you will have to provide reports on your background from such sources as the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. If your background is unacceptable, you will be disqualified for employment in such positions. You will receive information about these requirements and how to obtain the required reports at the time you are being considered for employment.

Some of the positions in these job titles come under the provisions of the Older Adults Protective Services Act. If you are being considered for one of these positions, you will have to obtain a report of criminal record information from the Pennsylvania State Police or a statement that the State Police Central Repository contains no information relating to you. If you have not been a Pennsylvania resident the two years immediately preceding the date you request this information, you are also required to furnish a report of Federal Criminal Record History Information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Minimum Requirements:
County Casework Manager 1 - Three years of experience in public or private social work which included one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

County Casework Manager 2 - Four years of experience in public or private social work which included two years in a public welfare program and two years in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Both Job Titles - An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Clarification of Requirements:
The equivalency statement under "Minimum Requirements" means that related advanced education may be substituted for a segment of the experience requirement and related experience may be substituted for required education, except for the 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences. It does not mean that unrelated experience or education will be accepted.

If you do not have a bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, social work, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, you must submit a list of completed courses in these areas or a college transcript.
