Your retirement benefit is calculated using a formula based on your Class of Service, years of Credited Service, salary and age. Your retirement benefit is NOT based on the Fund’s investment performance or on the employer contribution rate. The basic formula is:

The Custom Calculator pulls your actual current account information from our database to prepare personal retirement estimates for a number of payment options. Because the Custom Calculator pulls personal information from the database, you will need to log into your secure Online Member Services account, by clicking on the top link to the left of this page.
If you do not yet have an Online Member Services account, you will need to register for one by clicking on the top link to the left of this page. After you register for an account, SERS will mail you an account password through the U.S. Postal Service. In the meantime, you can use the Generic Benefit Calculator to produce rough estimates.
