The Pennsylvania State Archives

The Pennsylvania State Archives collects, preserves and makes available for study the permanently-valuable public records of the Commonwealth, with particular attention given to the records of state government. The State Archives also collects papers of private citizens and organizations relevant to Pennsylvania history. 

Hours: Wednesday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (no original records pulled from 12.00-1.00pm and call slips for all materials must be submitted by 11:45am prior to the lunch hour or 3:30pm at the end of the day); Saturday ( microfilm use only ), 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.; Closed on all Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and State Holidays
