Can I change my CWOPA password from home with SAP/ESS?
The password change utility for CWOPA was disabled to enhance the performance of ESS from the Internet(@home). You can still change your CWOPA password from SAP/ESS through the intranet (@work). MUSER passwords can still be changed from the Internet(@home) but only when they expire.
From a technical perspective, IE 8 will work with SAP.
IES has updated the SAP portal and backend systems to support IE 8. They have been tested with IE 8, and no problems were found.
The SAP GUI also makes calls to IE, and needs to be patched to support IE 8. IES has tested SAP GUI release 7.10, patch 16 with IE 8, and found no problems.
We have seen in several instances that turning on “Compatibility View” in IE 8 has resolved a majority of issues being faced by our users. Please refer to the Microsoft KB 956197 article as a reference on how the IE 8 compatibility view works.
That said, ITB-APP035 does not yet include IE 8 as a Commonwealth enterprise standard and therefore limited time is reserved for problem determination.
If you receive a "this page cannot be displayed" error when trying to access www.myworkplace.state.pa.us.
This is caused by the performance issues we are currently experiencing.
If you have this message while trying to log on, please wait a couple of minutes and try again. We continue to experience very heavy usage with the ESS/SSS/SRM application and are continuing to investigate alternatives to address the identified technical issues. We are working to secure additional infrastructure components to alleviate the problems.
What should I do if I don't see the Security Alert pop-up message when exiting MyCommowealth Workplace?
Check your IE browser security settings for the following:
Open up Internet Explorer
Click Internet Options
Choose the Advanced tab
Scroll down to the bottom of the list
Please check to see if the checkbox is checked beside the line that reads, "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode".
If this box is checked you will get the IE pop-up after closing the IES portal. If this is unchecked you will not receive this extra pop-up. This is an Internet Explorer setting that lets you know when you have left a secure site and are entering a non-secure site.
These courses have been updated to reflect changes due to the new portal technology.
Also, if you are in MyCommonwealth Workplace and need to review a procedure/service, go to the ESS Help link in the detailed navigation panel. A complete list of services will be provided for your review. Take a few moments to review these services and get familiar with how they now work in portal. Most of the services also contain a link for Simulations which will guide you through the process.
