    As of December 8th, 2007, the current internet web address, http://www.workingsmart.state.pa.us, will no longer work. If you have this location saved as a favorite, you will need to delete it and add the new web address of https://www.myworkplace.state.pa.us to your favorites.

  • When trying to login to ESS, I receive the error - No portal roles are assigned for this user.


    If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.  
     
    The following SAP role related logon screen needs to be resolved by the Agency ASA (Agency Security Administrator) who is most often an HR specialist.

  • I receive an - Error on page - in the lower left browser corner. What do I do to fix this?


    Please contact your Agency help desk or LAN team to apply the latest Microsoft operating system patches for Windows 2000 or Windows XP on your PC.

  • I am having problems accessing ESS from HOME. What am I doing wrong?


    Make sure you are using the correct URL in your browser of: http://www.myworkplace.state.pa.us and that you have the correct USERID/password. Your USERID: CWOPA\USERID and your password is the same USERID and password that you use everyday to login to your PC at work. Most users forget to include the CWOPA\ in front of their USERID.
    Please make sure you use the \ and NOT the / and you must type the CWOPA\ in front of your USERID. The \ will be located above your enter key on your keyboard.
     
    Also, the only IES certified browser is Internet Explorer 6.0 on a Windows XP operating system. All other combinations of browsers (ex: Firefox, Netscape) and PC operating system software (ex: Windows 98, NT, or Vista, MAC, Linux) are NOT certified by IES for ESS access. We also recommend using Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0. Other products may work; however, full functionality cannot be assured.

  • How do I add additional lines of entry for my CATS form?


    To resolve the additional lines of entry that you need for the CATS, please try to select view -  full screen. This will enable maximum viewing of the Time Sheet Data Entry View screen allowing additional lines of entry.

  • How do I refresh my Universal Worklist?


    Additional functions are available via the CONTEXT MENU  icon within the UWL iView.  Refresh updates the UWL iView, Manage Substitution Rules used to define rules for a substitution and Display Connection Status identifies which systems are connected.
    Example:        

    Select Refresh from the window and the Status will be updated.

  • I am a purchaser for SRM and receive an Error message Exception condition GUID_MISSING on a contract.


    What am I doing wrong?

    This error message occurs when the contract being referenced has incomplete sourcing data (product master or product category). To resolve this system error, the purchaser must enter line item detail before referencing the contract.

  • Why doesn't my time sheet open properly when I select it from my favorites in ESS?


    If you saved your time sheet as a favorite before the change was made to have it open in a new window the week of March 17, 2008, it may not open properly or at all.  Please delete the old favorite and add it again using the new version. Detailed instructions for adding/deleting favorites can be found in the Navigating ESS help document steps 10 through 13.

    workflow items that have been approved are still showing in my Universal Worklist inbox?

    If you don't see your workflow items in your Universal Worklist inbox or approved workflow items are still appearing in the Universal Worklist inbox, you may need to manually refresh your inbox. Instructions for refreshing your Universal Worklist inbox are provided in PDF format.
