Area Agencies on Aging
A directory by county of the local Area Agencies on Aging that administer programs for older Pennsylvanians.

County Assistance Offices
A directory by county of the County Assistance Offices that administer Medicaid, food stamp, cash assistance and other welfare programs.

Department of Aging
Provides information about a variety of services and benefits for older Pennsylvanians.

Department of Community and Economic Development
Provides information about the PA Access Grant Program that assists individuals with disabilities with housing and home modification.

Department of Health
Provides quality assurance reviews of nursing facilities and home health care agencies, directories of home health agencies, hospice sites, nursing homes, and a list of Ombudsman, and quality assurance activities related to nursing home inspections.

Department of Insurance
Provides information for consumers about long term care insurance, including information about the Long Term Care Partnership Program, and continuing care retirement communities authorized to operate in Pennsylvania.

Department of Labor and Industry
Provides information about services available from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to assist individuals with disabilities. Also houses the Office of Blindness and visual Services.

Office Of Long-Term Living
A unique office that provides easy access to information about the services and supports available to people with physical disabilities and those who are over the age of 60.

Department of Military and Veteran Affairs
Provides information about state veterans homes and benefits.

Department of Public Welfare
Provides information about the numerous programs and services available to individuals with low to moderate income including Medicaid, food stamps, cash assistance, employment and training services, social services, and home and community based services.

Office of Developmental Programs 
Provides information on services available to those who have cognitive developmental disabilities.

Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse 
Provides information on mental health services and issues, homelessness, pharmaceutical programs and drug and alcohol services.

Department of State
Provides information about the licensing requirements for medical professionals.

Department of Transportation
Provides information about transportation services, including the Shared Ride/Access program.

Pennsylvania General Assembly
Provides information about the Pa House of Representative and the Pa. Senate and pending or adopted legislation.

Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA)
Provides information on housing options. Also has a web based Affordable Apartment Locator that lists available units statewide.

Provides information on being informed about different types of disasters.  Be prepared by making a plan and an emergency kit.  And be involved in your community.
