The State Fire Commissioner Act 118 of 2010, places responsibility on the State Fire Commissioner for addressing the diverse training, operational, and informational needs of the Commonwealth’s fire and emergency services community. The State Fire Commissioner is responsible for the development and operation of the State Fire Academy’s Resident Training, Local Level Training and Firefighter Certification Programs; the Volunteer Loan Assistance Program and the Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program; a program of Public Education and Information, the Pennsylvania Fire Information Reporting System, fire resources under the Pennsylvania Intrastate Mutual Aid System; and the Firefighter’s Memorial Flag program.
