Job Task Analysis Documents and Survey
Scope of the Job Task Analysis:
The project entailed conducting a detailed job task analysis of constables and deputy constables as they pertain to Title 42 Pa.C.S.A. §2950; studies of constables across 66 counties (no constables in Philadelphia County); job related tasks and skills; interviews and stakeholder meetings (stakeholders include but are not limited to constables, deputy constables, district justices, county court administrators, county controllers, the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC), president judges, and the six regional training providers); collating collected data by frequency and depth of each individual skill performed; recommending the level of standard to which an individual skill must be performed; listing all skills under specified, implied, and essential tasks. Also, defining each task by purpose, function and importance to a constable's performance of judicial duties as listed in Title 42 Pa.C.S.A. §2950; detailed reporting of the impact of specified, implied and essential tasks on current and future curricula for: constables’ basic training, firearms training, continuing education and optional training curricula, including all instructional support materials and examinations; the production and delivery of a basic instructor development training program; the production and delivery of annual instructor update programs; and the law enforcement waiver exam.
How will this study impact constables?
The results of this study will directly impact Act 44 training. The goal of the study is to make Act 44 training more relevant to constables' performance of the judicial duties as defined under Title 42 Pa.C.S.A. §2950. Constables should make every effort to participate in the study by completing and returning any surveys or attending any information gathering sessions held in an area.
