Pennsylvania First Lady Susan Corbett

HISTORIC PRESERVATION

In a state with such a rich history, the First Lady has always held a deep appreciation for the cultural heritage of our commonwealth. Before becoming First Lady, Susan Corbett worked for the Gettysburg Foundation, an organization which works to preserve, honor and protect the natural and cultural resources associated with the Gettysburg National Military Park, the Gettysburg Campaign, and the Eisenhower National Historic Site.

Continuing with her commitment to historic preservation, the First Lady has become an active member of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, the commonwealth’s official history agency. The Commission works to “preserve the commonwealth's memory as a teacher and champion of its heritage.” This Commission also oversees the State Museum, state archives, state-owned historic sites and museums around the commonwealth and the Bureau for Historic Preservation.
