The Pennsylvania Department of Health is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as part of a multi-state fungal meningitis outbreak among patients who received contaminated (tainted) steroid injections. The outbreak occurred from contaminated medication made by the New England Compounding Center (NECC) in Framingham, Massachusetts.
